The selenium counters the chronic disease like lung cancer and prostate cancer and also the colorectal cancer. Vitamin E supplement reduces the deaths due to cardiovascular disease in females and it also reduces the chances prostate cancer in men. Although some of the supplement hinders various chronic diseases there are some supplements which have no positive results as such. Some of the supplements tend to harm one’s life; there are reports that some of the single vitamin supplements have adverse affect. The increased intake of health supplement tend to increase the risk factor causing chronic disease like cancer, heart related disease and osteoporosis. One should consult doctor before taking a supplement, be aware of the kind of supplement he or she needs, is it suitable for his age and amount of supplement to be taken. It can have adverse effects on a pregnant woman if taken ignorantly. One should take a multivitamin supplement daily in optimal quantity to resist chronic diseases. |
