Should I Avoid Supplements If I Am Over 65?

Several people that are over the age of 65 are taking a hand full of medications on a daily basis. Due to all the long-term illnesses that they have such as high blood pressure, diabetes, arthritis, and heart disease they have to take a medication. However, they could be taking a supplement, instead of a prescription for some of these health issues. 

Actually, it is highly recommend that an older person consume vitamins and daily supplements to help keep their body’s strong, immune system built up, and also to provide them with the appropriate amount of nutrients that they should have on a daily basis. 

If you are taking certain prescribed medication you will want to consult with your physician before you take an supplements to be sure that your medicines will not interact with those supplements. But, it is okay to take them as long as it is clarified with your physician first.
